At Somerset Family Dentistry, LLC we know that many people have dental insurance but do not utilize it to their benefit. They do not understand the difference between a dental insurance plan and a medical insurance plan. By not knowing all the facts about their dental insurance, many patients are paying more out of their own pockets then they have to.
Sure most dental insurances have an individual maximum (the maximum amount of money their company will pay in a calender year for benefit), deductible (amount of money a patient must pay prior to the insurance company paying each calender year), and co-pays (percentage a patient must pay toward a procedure), but there is one important part of insurance that many patients do not understand, which increases the amount of money they must pay for dental work. That is the difference between a dentist who ACCEPTS your insurance and a PARTICIPATING PROVIDER.
If you go to a dentist who accepts your insurance, your insurance company will still pay the same amount to the dentist, however the dentist is allowed to charge their normal fee to the patient. However, if you go to a participating provider, you can only be charged the negotiated insurance fee, which is usually siginificantly less. This means that if two patients with the same dental insurance (one went to a dentist who accepted their insurance, the other to a participating dentist), the one who went to a participating dentist could potentially save hundreds of dollars for the same procedure.
In these economic times, we understand that people want quality dental care. They also want smaller out of pocket fees for that care. It is with these facts in mind that Somerset Family Dentistry is proud to PARTICIPATE in the following dental plans:
